Is it worth the difference?
It depends on one question: will someone reliably water the plants? If yes, Shield covers everything that needs expertise at a materially lower monthly cost. If nobody will — a second home, a busy office, frequent travel — then the free-replacement guarantee usually pays for itself, because unwatered plants fail quickly and replacing them at cost adds up.
