The brief

A corporate office that wanted the presence of greenery in spaces where living plants would not survive — interior walls without daylight, in a building where irrigation and drainage were not options. The greenery also had to carry the company identity rather than sit beside it.

What we built

172 square feet of designer preserved-moss panelling, including logo work cut into the moss itself. Preserved moss is real moss treated so it holds colour and texture indefinitely: it needs no water, no light and no maintenance, which made it the only honest answer for windowless corporate walls.

Alongside the moss, we delivered end-to-end interior plantation for the rest of the office — the areas that did have light, handled as a conventional plantscaping project with species chosen for the building's conditions.

Why it works

The maintenance figure is the point. A living wall in that position would have needed irrigation, drainage, grow lights and a permanent care contract. The preserved-moss build needs none of those — the ongoing cost after handover is zero, which is what made it viable at that scale.

If you are weighing the two approaches, the living walls and preserved moss page sets out the trade-off directly.
